A friend brought over a box of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice this winter, and I now have a new cold-weather favorite! It’s everything that I wanted their Gingerbread Spice tea to taste like (but it REALLY fell short of the mark). Basically, it’s a bit of chai spices with heavy doses of cinnamon and ginger. It’s as if you just dipped your gingerbread man into some tea and took a big bite.
Also caffeine free – it’s basically just spices: cinnamon, roasted chicory, roasted carob, vanilla, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg. Brewed weak, it’s unimpressive. I leave the teabag in until I’m done with the pot! Brewed as strong as I can manage, it’s my favorite new find this year.
This one doesn’t need sweetening at all, but adding milk makes it divine. I have a feeling that it’s going to be amazing on ice this summer, too.
